Dad! Your presence is the greatest Adventure.
You are the most important guide.

Building resilience in early school-age children

Great Adventure for Dad & Son (7 - 13 years old) – outdoor at Camp Vista

Hello Dad,
we invite you and your Son to an outdoor expedition #GreatAdventure #TatoNet to Camp Vista in Wisconsin!

Participation in this unique event for Dad & Son is not only active relaxation, but also a form of mini survival, stepping out of the comfort zone (offline time), and an initiation for boys.

It is a time when you can talk without rushing, cut off from everyday responsibilities. It is a time to limit contact with civilization to a minimum, building a relationship between child and father through effort, physical exertion, active relaxation, and undertaking new tasks together.
See what those who participated say about the Great Adventures: reportage

.   ### DAD – YOUR ROLE MATTERS

During the Great Adventure:

> You are the guide – under your eye, the child learns safe paddling and navigating the terrain

> Together you face challenges – SAILING on a raft you built or a KAYAK on the lake, surrounded by a beautiful forest

> You pass on knowledge in practice – not through theory, but through shared action and personal example - you help awaken curiosity and show how to PRACTICALLY USE YOUR SKILLS during sports and dexterity activities

WHY IS IT WORTH BEING THERE?

You strengthen the relationship with your child through shared experience | You build their mental and physical resilience | You give your child real competencies, not just memories | You spend time with other fathers and children of a similar age.

You experience a community of values with fathers from the Tato.Net community.

# CIRCLE OF FATHERS - time for a unique community

The workshop program addresses key issues:

  • The most important needs of your child at their current stage of development.
  • Your role in your child's life – how to be a fully engaged dad.
How to individually motivate your child to take action, considering their traits.
  • Practical tips: how to raise a child to be responsible for themselves and others.
  • The art of active listening and providing effective feedback.
Exchange of experiences and mutual inspiration in a male circle.

ACCOMMODATION: In tents at Camp Vista (see on map)

Camp Vista – the perfect base for a Great Adventure for Dad & Son, located on over 300 acres in the picturesque Kettle Moraine forest in Wisconsin. An incredibly scenic center, located about 140 miles from Chicago. On the campus grounds is the spring-fed Lake Cedar, surrounded by forest. A large creek flows from the lake. This is a place that encourages bond-building through active relaxation, sports, and contact with nature, offering everything needed to experience an unforgettable adventure in a Christian atmosphere.

ACCOMMODATION: Camp Vista campground (own tents and sleeping bags).

If you are interested in the Great Adventure - reserve your spot immediately (first come, first served)

If you feel that this is the moment — do not delay. We work in small groups, so the number of spots is limited.

Welcome!

Workshop program:

GROUP – EARLY SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN (7 - 13 years old)

|7 - 13| This is a key moment to begin the shared path of the Great Adventure.
Why?

  • Patterns and imitation: The child intensely imitates the father, building their own sense of agency based on his example.
Symbolic thinking: Thanks to a developed imagination, the child experiences the camping trip as a great, formative adventure.
  • Development of initiative: Shared tasks support the key transition at this age from withdrawing to taking action.
  • Learning cooperation: This is the ideal time for training in group cooperation (primarily with peers).

This is an age when playing together most effectively builds a bond, and a dad's presence gives the child a sense of security in exploring the world.

To ensure the right atmosphere, we accept a limited number of 12 duets. First come, first served.

Start: May 22 (Friday) 4 p.m.
THE PROGRAM includes outdoor field games building dad & son relationships:

> father and son kayaking trip
> raft building,
> shooting range activities,
> starting a fire together without matches, dad and son time by the campfire,
> hiking throughout the entire campus,
> optional hike to Dundee Mountain - a hill 200 feet high, with a trail called the Dundee Mt. Summit Nature Trail leading to its peak
> time to plant a tree
and many other attractions.*
