On November 9, 2024, the 16th International Tato.Net Fathers Forum was held in Lublin under the theme "Dignity and Service – Fathers keep Guard over Values", bringing together over 500 fathers. This event, part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations of Tato.Net Community, was the largest gathering of fathers since the pandemic.
A Global Community of Engaged Fathers
Participants from three continents and numerous European countries came together, forming an international community of fathers dedicated to fostering a family culture grounded in values. The concept of dignity is being reintroduced into the vocabulary of fathers as an attitude and response to contemporary challenges, especially those faced by Generation Alpha, often referred to as “The Anxious Generation".
The Forum Phenomenon: Why Is It Unique?
Dr. Dariusz Cupiał, the founder of Tato.Net, emphasizes that the Forum is "a space, a form of meeting, more than just a conference where people listen to speakers. Everyone is both a participant and a speaker, with roles intertwining. This makes the Forum a unique agora of fatherhood, where attendees inspire each other and discover the essence of who they are."
The Forum’s program is designed to provide fathers with inspiring moments and practical answers, drawing from the experiences of other men who are also striving to fulfill their responsible roles within their families and society.
Fatherly Networking and the Power of Community
Wojciech, a Forum participant for seven years who travels from England annually, aptly summarized this unique exchange of ideas and experiences: "Just as football scoring champion, Robert Lewandowski thrives on team passes, I, as a father, thrive on the 'passes' I receive at the Forum." Such reflections highlight how the Forum equips fathers with tools and inspiration for everyday growth. Through thematic group sessions, known as TatoSFERA, participants had the opportunity to gain knowledge and specific skills across seven areas: digital, health, professional, educational, cultural, family, and spiritual.
Social Capital and the Strength of Partnerships
The Forum's success was made possible by the synergy of social capital—participants, partners, sponsors, and volunteers. Partners such as EC Będzin S.A. and local authorities emphasized the importance of fostering relationships in business and public institutions to support pro-family initiatives. The Marshal of the Lublin Voivodeship, Jarosław Stawiarski, and the Mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof Żuk, honored Tato.Net with special medals recognizing its contribution to promoting responsible fatherhood.
Gala and MAX 2024 Award – Recognizing Excellence
The Forum concluded with a gala evening featuring the presentation of the MAX Award for outstanding achievements in fostering a culture of responsible fatherhood. The MAX 2024 statuette was awarded to:
- Paweł Tuni from Miękinia (individual category) for his exemplary role as the father of two children, adopting a child with health challenges, and his community work in Fatherhood Clubs.
- Krzysztof Słomka, an artist, for his work on Tato.Net’s visual identity, and Dr. Ken Canfield (USA), author of the groundbreaking book “The Heart of a Father” (work category).
- TSL Transport Spedycja Logistyka (institution category), recognized as a father-friendly employer supporting their roles in both private and professional lives.
Summary
The 2024 Tato.Net Forum became a place where dignity and service emerged as living values. A key strength of this initiative lies in the experts of the Tato.Net Think Tank and the network of Fatherhood Clubs. These clubs, known as #OKTatoNet, demonstrate the need for learning and self-developing communities of fathers. Currently active in over 70 locations, the long-term goal of Tato.Net is to establish at least one Fatherhood Club in every county so that every father can access support within their local community.
